About

Welcome to “Enhancing your Social IQ.”  This site is all about developing your “social smarts,” the ability to understand your own and other people’s feelings, to “read” other people’s communications, and connecting effectively with others.

There are lots of reasons for developing your social intelligence — enjoying relatinoships more, resolving conflicts with others, helping you to break out of your “shell” or to be more effective at work or in school.  This site may be helpful to you — give you a few ideas for becoming more comfortable with others, or for making others feel more at home around you.

About me

My name is Greg Korgeski, Ph.D.  I have a degree in clinical psychology, and work as a licensed clinical psychologist in Vermont.  I’m the author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Enhancing Your Social IQ, along with the The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Phobias.

While doing the research for the social intelligence book, I uncovered tons of research on this popular topic that I plan to share with you in these posts.

(And here is the usual caveat: I’m not your therapist, and this blog is not the same thing as “professional advice” that you might get from a psychologist in person.  Hopefully this is helpful, but your mileage may vary.)
